We were inspired by the way that sheet metal cutters work when we created the InvenTABLE! However, we did design this cutting tool ourselves to be more suitable for cardboard and safer for kids. It is a different tool.

Because of these differences, the InvenTABLE should not be used for cutting metal.

Before we ship out, we will be getting third party Kids Safety Certifications to make absolutely sure we've done everything we can to make this safe. These include the ASTEM F963-11 and Children's Product Certificate (CPC).

Getting these certifications requires a randomly selected sample of our final manufactured product. We are currently on track to conduct this testing in July of 2024.

Yes, it will be replaceable, and we will offer replacement parts! We used our first prototype cutting part for over a year with no noticeable change in cut quality. We are making sure that is the case in our final version as well, so that you won't have to replace it too often!

The InvenTABLE should work on material up to 2.5mm without any issue, and potentially up to 3mm depending on the material. This thickness should support any single-ply cardboard. Thicker cardboard may need to be flattened down a little bit wherever your cut lines are!

The InvenTABLE was designed for cardboard. While we did some early tests on other materials, we cannot guarantee effectiveness on any materials except for cardboard yet as we have not tested them with the manufactured prototype yet. We will test the manufactured version on more materials in the summer of 2024 and update this answer then!

That said, do not attempt to cut metal with the InvenTABLE. While the cutting tool is designed similarly to sheet-metal tools, the customizations we have made make it unsafe to use with metallic materials.

We don’t have the exact weights for the final product yet, but have been working with the manufacturer to get tighter estimates. The following are the estimates based on the latest prototypes:

• InvenTABLE Unit: About 2.3kg (about 5 lbs)
• Inventable + Power Supply/Cable: 2.5kg (about 5.5 lbs)
• Inventable + Power Supply/Cable + Packaging: 3.21kg (about 7 lbs)

InvenTABLE is currently for pre-order in North America only. There are quite a few logistics to figure out regarding toy safety requirements in each country and voltage regulations. We will begin to sell outside of North America starting in late 2024, and plan on at least taking international pre-orders starting in September 2024.

If you pre-ordered InvenTABLE on our website through Shopify, you will be able to change your address from your confirmation email as long as the product has not shipped out yet.

1. Locate your order confirmation email or text, which should contain a link to the order confirmation page.
2. On the order confirmation page, if prompted to log in to see the full order details, enter your email address tied to the order and your order number. Order number can be found in the original confirmation email or text.
3. After logging in, click “Update Shipping Address”
4. Enter your new address details, then click “Save”

Our current estimated timeline has us shipping backer rewards in late September 2024. We had to delay our initial Kickstarter shipping timeline for a number of reasons, summed up in our backer update here.

We are doing everything we can to prevent further delays, so keep up with the Kickstarter Updates and Product Updates to see the latest project developments!

Unfortunately we can’t offer full refunds and pledge cancellations for Kickstarter or BackerKit pledges because we have already locked pledges and begun working with manufacturing partners to bring the project to life. You can read the Kickstarter policies about refunds for more information. If you still need to cancel your pledge, you can reach out to us for support at hello@itsinventable.com.

Since pledges have now been locked, the only way to buy a new InvenTABLE or accessory is to purchase it separately on our website.

If you are not satisfied with a Product and have reason to suspect it is defective, please contact us and we will do our best to make sure you are happy. 

However, no returns or exchanges will be accepted:

• after fourteen (14) days from the date upon which you received the Product;
• on any Product that is no longer in an original /resalable condition; or
• on any Product that has been opened;
• on any tax, duty, fee, cost, expense, or anything other than the purchase price of the Product itself.
• Related to any delay associated with production or delivery estimates

Online exchanges are not supported at this time.  Gift cards and donations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
